The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) newly-elected vice president/regional chairman Abdul Rauf Mukhtar and vice president Shireen Arshad Khan have taken over charge of their office at a special ceremony here Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Rauf Mukhtar said that he was well aware of the current problems faced by the business community. He said efforts would be made to resolve all the issues relating to taxes, regulatory duty, customs, smuggling, refund and rebate, starting business and cost of doing business.

High utility expenses of electricity and gas had also disturbed the manufacturing sector, he said, adding that a detailed report in this regard would be compiled at district level. Monthly meeting with each chamber and association would also be priority of the new body, he added. Senior Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik and FPCCI vice president Shireen Arshad Khan also spoke on the occasion.
